Hannah’s first experience with death was that of her grandfather at a hospice home in Rochester, NY. As a child, she was struck by the grace with which the staff cared for her grandfather and normalized his dying process. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from SUNY Purchase, Hannah achieved her Associates Degree in Nursing at Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in Manhattan in 2013. That same year, she left Manhattan for Cape Cod, where she cared for individuals with dementia and chronic illnesses before officially becoming a hospice nurse in 2016. She has served dying individuals in their homes, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities across the Cape. Having seen firsthand the struggle families endure to care for their dying loved ones, Hannah is honored to share her experience and compassion as a co-founder of The Lily House.
